The Business School has its own Student Support Officer, Sybil Green, who is available to advise and assist on matters related to student finance, regulations and the support services available within and outside the University. Previously Head of Student Advisory Service, Cardiff University, Sybil was awarded an MBE for services to higher education in 2004.
Sybil is also the School's Student Disability Contact. If you need any information regarding disability or specific learning difficulties (for example, dyslexia) and the available support, including special provision in exams, Sybil will assist you in ensuring you receive the additional support you need.
All students are allocated a personal tutor when they arrive at Cardiff Business School. Your personal tutor will be able to give you advice on a range of academic issues including module choice and assessment. Your personal tutor is there to help with any problems you encounter which affect your studies; they will be able to put you in touch with the student support services provided by the Business School, the University and the Students' Union as appropriate. It is normally the personal tutor who writes references for job applications, and therefore you should keep your personal tutor informed of your progress.
If you are an international student and you need any support with reading, writing, speaking or listening to English, particularly in an academic context, there is support available at Cardiff. See the International students pages for more detail.
Cardiff is one of Europe's youngest capital cities. Compact, green, friendly and full of life, it provides a first class environment in which to live and study.
