Dr. Yingli Wang has conducted extensive research in the area of Electronic Logistics Marketplaces (ELMs). She was awarded the prestigious James Cooper Memorial Cup by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in 2009 for her PhD work in ELM.
She is also a co-investigator of DfT funded and principal investigator of two of the Welsh Assembly Government funded research of ELM. Dr. Wang has worked with a wide range of industrial companies from various sectors including both SMEs and blue chip companies. Her recent work with Tesco has been highlighted by Engineering and Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC) as a good example of industry and academic collaboration. Before embarking on her academic career, she worked for 9 years at Nestle China in various senior managerial roles. She's recently been awarded a place on the 2011 Welsh Crucible programme, an initiative funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales (HEFCW) to develop future research leaders in Wales.
From 1995 to 2002 she undertook in a variety of managerial roles in Nestlé China, mainly in production, logistics and HR functions. She was also the chairwoman of Employee Representative Committee and a senior member of local Environment and Safety Government Committee. Her last job at Nestle was a regional manager at sales support unit for the north region.
