Sue is a Lecturer at Cardiff Business School and an Associate of BRASS Research Centre (www.brass.cf.ac.uk) at Cardiff University. She is a recognised international expert in the field of Social Marketing having taught and conducted research in this area for the last 20 years. Sue regularly provides social marketing advice and expertise to a variety of national and international projects.

Welsh Government Supporting Sustainable Living Programme - appointed January 2011 as an Expert Advisor for the new £15m Sustainable Living programme to deliver sustainability and climate change objectives through communication and engagement over the next 3 years. Provision of advice and training in social marketing/ behaviour change to various audiences. Member of their Grants Advisory Panel
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service - providing social marketing expertise since July 2008 on an innovative social marketing project to reduce the incidence of deliberate grass fires in Wales. For more details see: Project Bernie . This involved providing critical guidance and direction to the project from design and delivery through to evaluation.
National Social Marketing Centre
Member of the National Occupational Standards Expert Steering Group. During 2008 this involved bi-monthly meetings in London developing the 1st National SM Occupational Standards.
Member of the Academic Advisory Group (other universities represented include Oxford, Cambridge, London and Stirling). Advising on how to develop SM skills & capacity in the UK.
Provision of SM educational/training resources.
Providing advice & expertise to a number of other organisations including: European Union, Welsh Assembly Government, New Zealand Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Norfolk County Council, South Wales Police, Breast Test Wales, Cynnal Cymru, Public Health Wales, Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, Chartered Institute of Marketing, British Aerosol Manufacturing Association and the Department of Health.
