Biography

Jane originally qualified in 1988, for fashion design at degree level which led to an early career post in retail management. Jane has experienced a variety of business sector sizes in the retail industry, working at senior management level within a range of areas including, clothing, homeware, giftware, jewellery and perfumery. Jane later worked as a consultant for smaller businesses, advising on strategy, supplier management and general management issues, whilst also establishing a new career in lecturing for The Open University and University of Wales, Newport. Jane joined Cardiff Business School during 2006 as a visiting lecturer for the Logistics and Operations Management department.

Jane has been a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) for a number of years and is currently the Education and Liaison Officer for the local branch of CIPS in South Wales.

PhD: Configuring Market Specific Orientations when Planning a Supply Chain Strategy: A focused study of the UK Touring Caravan Industry, Cardiff University. Planned submission date: end of 2011.
