· Rachel Ashworth is an advisor to the Welsh Local Government Data Unit;
George Boyne is a member of the United Nations Expert Group on Public Sector
Effectiveness and academic adviser to the Welsh Local Government Association;
· Richard Cowell is an advisor on environmental governance reform to the National Trust
· Tom Entwistle is a member of the Welsh Improvement Board and a Member of the Excellence Wales Project Board, and acted as an adviser to the recently completed review of the role and functions of local government under the chairmanship of Sir Michael Lyons.
· Clive Grace is Chair of the Better Local Regulation Office and an Adviser to the Board of BT Wales on Public Policy.
· Steve Martin is a member of the board of the Improvement and Development Agency for Local Government and a director of the New Local Government Network. He is also a member of the Public Sector Management Wales Advisory Board. In 2005/2006 he was academic adviser to the Independent Review of Local Public Services under the chairmanship of Sir Jeremy Beecham, and he acted as a consultant to the review of the role and functions of local government under the chairmanship of Sir Michael Lyons published in 2007.
